Bird-Watching Group Experience Led by Ralph Bates
Donated by Ralph Bates
This event is ideal for beginners or recent converts to the joys of birding. Experienced birders are encouraged to bid also. Ralph is a very experienced birder in both the U.S. and internationally: his life-time sightings to date -- 1500 birds ! Timing is May 2027 (flexible scheduling). Why Spring time and not sooner? Simple. That is the best time of the year to see more birds, hear their songs and mating calls, and have less leaf growth which allows for easier sighting. They are more active then which makes your chances of success at spotting a sizeable variety of birds exciting and likely !! A big bonus is we’ll meet at the 145 acre Jones Nature Preserve in Tiger Valley, which has woods, ponds, streams, gardens, meadows and fields. We’ll spend about 4 hours on a leisurely stroll starting early on a Spring morning. If you choose to go with friends, up to eight participants could be accommodated.
